Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Benoy as Architects

Sitting beneath its iconic red roof in the heart of Yas Island, is the world’s first Ferrari theme park and largest attraction of its kind. The Park pays tribute to the passion, excellence, performance, and technical innovation that Ferrari has established over the years and represents today.

To house this state of the art leisure attraction, world renowned architectural firm Benoy created a building to reflect the sinuous form of a Ferrari, directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body.

Due to the shape of the island and the position of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in close proximity to the airport, the building was conceived as a very simple ‘ground hugging’ form, peeling up from the landscape in flowing lines like a red sand dune.

The visually distinctive form and shape crowns the Yas Marina Circuit and due to its location, the sleek shape and beauty of the building can be experienced by anyone driving past or flying over the Island. The building is a true architectural expression of the values of the Ferrari brand itself.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Reynaers Aluminium as Curtain Wall

Known as the world’s largest indoor park, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the fiery red centre of the Ferrari theme park located on Yas Island, UAE. Every year, millions of tourists from around the world face the Emirates’ heat head-on to visit this popular holiday destination. Luckily, bespoke curtain wall and solar shading solutions by Reynaers Aluminium allow the park to host its visitors comfortably even on the hottest days of the year.

Picture the double curve of a Ferrari race car’s body shell. Smooth lines, shiny finish. This exact image inspired the team at Benoy Architects when designing Ferrari World’s unique shape. Its curved lines and large glass façades make the theme park’s attractive centrepiece stand out from its surroundings. However, given Abu Dhabi’s constant hot weather, it can be difficult to create a beautiful building and ensure it stays comfortably cool throughout the day. That is where our Reynaers Aluminium project solutions come into play.

Bespoke solutions to beat the heat
How did we do it? Reynaers Aluminium created nearly thirty new profiles and countless components to finish this massive project. For example, we covered the main façade with custom-made versions of our heat-proof ElementFaçade 86 system. Now you can enter the theme park, take a breath, and cool off for as long as you want. The World of Ferrari is refreshingly comfortable, thanks to our highly insulating façade solutions. And to further beat the Middle Eastern heat, we added tailor-made sunscreen solutions in the building’s walkway to create even more shadow to enjoy.

On the outside, coated curtain walls limit any outward glare from the window panes, giving visitors the full opportunity to take in the view. Speaking of views, be sure to take a walk through the funnel of the park and look up. A steel 3D support system braces the enormous metal skin roof, making this indoor family venue the biggest of its kind.

Design and comfort do not often seem to match. But when they do come together, something special happens. Ferrari World hosts millions of people from all over the world in boiling Abu Dhabi, every day of the year. Expect the unexpected, all with some refreshing solutions by Reynaers Aluminium.
