For PUFF, a film studio in Barcelona

MH.AP Studio as Architects

PUFF is a film studio located in Barcelona with three technical equipped & sound proofed rooms that allow for multiple purposes such as fittings, shootings and castings. The corridor, used as a waiting area, runs along from the reception -hidden behind a set of mirrors, controlling the access- up to the split-level production room.

A topography of dropped ceilings hides the installations and adjusts the spatial proportions throughout the project. This visual & formal game, rendered in navy-blue cork, reduces the sound impact outside the film studios and enhances the acoustic comfort.

The landscape turns upside down at the other end, at the production room. The velvety green carpet takes over in a warmer colour palette, accompanied by pastel orange tones from cedar-wood and theatre-like curtains, to accommodate a flexible space that invites for floor interaction.

Covered in wood-cement beige panels and brass joints, the surface of the walls resembles natural stone by the way natural light -and artificial- is reflected, but at the same time the walls are pleasant and warm when touched.

Material Used :
1. Viroc (Investwood) - Wall Cladding
2. Teka - Appliances
3. Franke - Kitchen Taps
4. Regent Lighting - Lamps
5. Progress Profil - Brass joints
6. Forbo - Linoleum Flooring
7. Mobles 114 – Furniture (Tables)
8. Roca - Toilets
9. Jung - Switches – LS990
10. Vipeq - Projected Cork

For PUFF, Film Studio in Barcelona

Investwood as walls and furniture

Fittings, shootings, castings…PUFF is a film studio with three technically equipped & soundproofed rooms for these uses. The corridor, also used as a waiting space, runs along with the premises, from the reception -hidden behind a set of mirrors, controlling the access- up to the two-level production room.

A topography of dropped ceilings in navy-blue hides the installations (A/C, electrical,…) and adjusts the spatial proportions throughout the project. This visual & formal game, rendered in navy-blue cork, reduces the sound impact outside the film studios and enhances the acoustic comfort. What other material could achieve this feat if not Valchromat?

The landscape turns upside down at the other end. Here -called the production room-, the velvety green carpet takes over in a warmer color palette, accompanied by pastel orangee tones from cedar-wood and theater-like curtains, to accommodate a flexible space that invites for floor interaction.

Covered in wood-cement beige panels and brass joints, the surface of the walls to appear in natural stone by the way natural (and artificial) light is reflected, and are strangely pleasant to touch in movement.
