OpenAire was approached by the design team at Utile to complete their vision of a glass sun room as part of the renovation for the Google Cambridge Offices in Cambridge Massachusetts.

While the resulting enclosure is a mere 84 m2, it packs a big punch, bringing the outside in through operable walls and a glass roof. The unique upper aluminum grating is not only decorative - but can hold the weight of window cleaners and their equipment while the building is being serviced.

This unique 12m x 6.7m space is a small oasis amongst the incredible Boston inspired interiors throughout Google’s new Cambridge Campus. The greatly expanded office complex features 28,000m2 of office space for more than 800 employees and spans 12 floors.
The project achieved LEED Gold® certification in 2022.
