Impressed by the work done by the designer for their factory the client assigned him with their dream home as well. Situated in a posh locality this apartment in Jaipur is designed by Architect Rohit Sethi for an industrialist family of four. The client’s brief aligned effortlessly with the Contemporary style, and the designers have successfully translated their vision into reality. Beginning with the formal living area of the luxurious home ,patterned Italian marble floors were installed which add radiance in day and glam when night falls. Perpendicular to it is floral pattern wallpaper where a high-gloss customised console is placed. There is lots of natural light and ventilation giving a fresh and breezy feel. The formal living area expands open with salmon pink sofas and golden accented tables. Wide terrace is attached where the residents can enjoy hi-tea with their work guests or host a party for friends and family.
The clients wanted designer Rohit Sethi to separate the private and public area of the house. Therefore, conscious efforts were made by the designer to subtly segregate the informal living area and formal living area. To entertain guests related to their work the formal living room is separated from the common area through a fixed glass wood partition. Behind this area, the lobby is filled with reflecting
light by wainscotting walls and Italian marble floor. The artwork from Best of Bharat was selected by the designer to enhance the overall aesthetic of the place.
Walking to the informal living area, you can see more straight lines which are accented with gold. The area has a cosy L-shaped sofa where family members can unwind and lounge enjoying the city view from the balcony adjacent to it.
For dining space, a custom made stone dinner table is placed. Since the client's parents frequently visit as well as they enjoy entertaining guests, this table has the capacity to seat eight individuals simultaneously. The fall ceiling has a coffer panel and veneer with cove lights. Next to the dining table you can see a turquoise console highlighted by gold hardware that can serve as a bar console.
The Kitchen holds the most significance in the entire project. It provides a unique look by adding elegantly handcrafted black and white Chevron tiles with golden highlights. Usually the dining area is alienated from the kitchen making it less practical. In order to solve this, Designs by Rohit Sethi has incorporated a functional breakfast nook. The window created is a help for the cook to serve fresh breakfast and warm meals. It is undoubtedly the kids favourite area. It's convenient for the lady of the hometolook around and communicate better.
Opposite to it for the temple area, a brass CNC cut jali is sandwiched with glass and intricate door hardware were used that complies with the home's aesthetics. As we move in the master bedroom it exudes class and timeless vibes having blush pink tones. To it chevron is added subtly at the bed back which is drawing a visual focal point. In this room the designer has affixed a sleek, multi-part dresser with a floor-to-ceiling mirror next to the balcony to utilise the available natural light effectively. A customised study desk with a TV console has been designed to meet the client's specific needs.
A generous 500 sq ft terrace was available in the apartment, giving a stunning city view and also serving as a unique selling point for the house. Hence here versatile seating arrangements are done, allowing children to play while adults enjoy the cityscape. Additionally, the terrace includes a swing and various outdoor furnishings for relaxation. You can sense an aura of youthfulness of pinks and mauve as you enter the bedroom designed for the daughter. The bedback is of grey colour to tone down the pinks. These classic colours were preferred by the designer who envisaged them to be relevant with her growth. Near the balcony a well-fit minimal
wooden desk is provided with a cabinet above.
The wardrobe has muted grey tone upholstery with rose gold accent as details for the door as well as wardrobe handles and is also replicated in the light fixture. The pinks, greys and rose gold is the main theme of the room. Imported italian marble in shade of yellow is used for the vanity in the washroom. The designer demolished the powder washroom to extend the daughter’s washroom. Blacks and greys were opted to put son’s bedroom together accentuating it with Windsor Tan leatherite
upholstery. The room is with a minimal study table beside the TV console. It has fluted detailing at the bed back.
Currently their son is young hence shares a room with parents for now. Keeping the future in mind this room is designed to reflect the masculine interior look with a timeless appeal to be relevant for his growth as well. Here to break the monotony they have jumbled the chevron patterns for the wooden TV back panel keeping the rest in symmetry. ‘To provide the room an organised look a black lacquered glass wardrobe was added ’ says Rohit Sethi. In the room's bathroom single stone has been opted, Imported italian marble in shade of red is used with profile lighting and mirror ceiling.
Walking to the guest bedroom you will see an easy on the eye combination of brown and beige and the bedback is designed with muted grey tones wallpaper and fluted glass at the back side of the bed. The glass pattern is also used for the wardrobe panels. Though the room is the smallest, it's cosy enough for the guest to enjoy the balcony view.
Since PMC was undertaken by the Architect himself for the project. The challenge encountered was to deliver a perfect home in a limited period of time and also to coordinate with the builder was a task. Still he navigated through it having years of experience in the business and knowledge of the same. Telling more about the house he expressed that they focused on clean lines and illumination. Ensuring a gratifying experience with luxury and comfort for the residents. To enhance the appeal they have used light fixtures by the brand Citra lights. The spaces are enhanced by artefacts and wall arts by Best of Bharat.
