The house gets its name from the way it is composed: the union of two volumes, with an upper one that "rests" on the lower one, which forms the ground floor.

These volumes define the different functions of the house. While the ground floor hosts the more social activities — including a living room, dining room, TV room, kitchen, two suites, and a pool with a barbecue area — the upper floor is more private, dedicated to the bedrooms and home office.

All the bedrooms on the upper floor have sliding doors that open onto a patio with a stunning view of Brasília’s skyline and Lake Paranoá. The upper volume is slightly shifted toward the northwest to take full advantage of this view.

The ground-level outdoor area, located at the back of the house, features a spacious garden, a swimming pool, and a barbecue area. The pool is framed by a cantilevered pergola that aligns with the axes of the lower volume. Made of a metal structure, it is positioned to cast shade over the pool during the hottest part of the day, in the early afternoon.

The garage is located at the back of the house and is accessed via the side of the lower volume, so as not to obstruct either the main façade or the view of the backyard, pool, and barbecue area.
