"Him and Her” symbolize mutual understanding, contrast, harmony and most important complementarity found in both chosen finishes and shapes of the furniture pieces, evoking simple, visually enclosed frames. Functionally, the living area is clearly separated from the sleeping area, marked by the presence of a suggestive frame which outlines the silhouette of a man’s bust, looking out towards anyone entering the apartment.

The furniture plan resulted from the act of dividing the main circulation paths and the window orientation. The living area, with one of its sides facing the terrace, borrows from its character and becomes a living painting towards which the dining area and the kitchen look.

In addition to the fixed glass partition separating the the living area from the terrace, an additional mobile partition was proposed to close off the kitchen when needed and for the visual purpose, contributing to the sense of length of the room.

The visual discourse stands out through the predominant use of natural finishes and textures, such as marble, wood, leather and brass, which present a version of silent and familiar luxury. The project started in an early stage, which allowed us to outline this metaphor of complementarity between male and female in a unified and coherent manner, without constraints.
