Conceived as a single compostion, this project is in fact two houses for two brothers. The two are comnected via an outdoor foyer that defines the entries to the houses.  The youger brother intended to live in this remote part of Taipei full time. His family of five lives in the part of the house with the grand staircase on the roof. The older brother would use the house during weekends.
