The project is located in the centre of the city of Zion. On a contiguous plot with two neighboring buildings to the south and north. To the east it develops along the river Sionne and to the west it overlooks an inner courtyard, protected from the nuisances of traffic. The project enhances the characteristics of the site with vegetation on the plot and on the building.
It connects the city with these facades made of exposed concrete poured on the spot with pigment coloured "earth" in reference to the rock and the basilica of Valère in the background. It makes the contrast of the mineral with the plant speak.
The project is organised on six levels on the ground floor and two levels in the basement. It consists of 25 apartments. All apartments have an east-west transverse plan. The relationship between interior and exterior is enhanced by generous balconies-loggias, which create dynamism and relief on the façade. There are different climbing plants creating a visual barrier between two housing units.
The same raw material, grey concrete, can be found inside the building: in the stairwells, the adjoining walls between the apartments, highlighting their role as load-bearing walls and ceilings.
From conception to materialisation, the project aims to contribute to sustainable development and guarantees a concept for a low-energy building. With a heat pump on the water table that also allows cooling in summer, controlled ventilation and photovoltaic solar panels.
