One of the largest flatfish filleting companies in Urk has had a completely new building built on a large area of 1.1 hectares.

Many sketches and designs were discussed before an ideal layout and routing through the building was found.

Nearly 4,100 square meters have been built downstairs and 1,300 square meters above, making the new building at least three times larger than the previous commercial building, which had already doubled in area in 2010.

Central to the company is the large cold store with access to the dispatch hall, sorting hall and filleting hall. The sorting hall – with two ice bunkers – has more than enough space for a second sorting line for fresh fish. Even further growth opportunities have already been considered.

The facade of this new building is equipped with an incredibly special system, namely the Caïman system from ArcelorMittal Construction. The scaling effect fits incredibly well with this family business.

A soft light bronze looks in Intense Bronze 1829, a multi-layer PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride) coating, was chosen for the color.
