On the historic VTS site in the heart of Sint-Niklaas, a new school building is being constructed that is not only functional but also architecturally striking. Strategically located along the Singel and flanked by a green connecting axis, the building forms a central hub on the renovated campus.
The volume offers space for both BUSO and TSO education and was designed with flexibility, legibility and future-proofing in mind.
The façade perfectly matches the industrial and technical character of the courses. A pleated bardage panel was chosen, combined with three types of ISIS point profiles. This variation in texture and depth gives the building a contemporary, rhythmic appearance.
The real eye-catcher? The pearlescent gold coating, which changes with the daylight. From soft and warm in the morning to intensely shiny at sunset — the building lives in harmony with its surroundings and makes a different statement at every moment.
