LA ESTELAR | The taco at center stage.

The taco at center stage.
In the heart of Mexico City, La Estelar turns the act of eating into a staged event. It all begins with a clear premise: to place the taco at center stage. From there, the project reinterprets the memory of old theaters and cinemas in a contemporary key, shaping a
clean, timeless space where architecture, graphics and lighting work together as a single stage design.

The experience unfolds along a visual axis that guides the journey from the very first step. On entering, a Venetian tile floor carries the name of the house and marks the start of a path that crosses the space without interruption, finding its climax at the back, where the open kitchen and a deep wine color reveal themselves as the heart of the place. Crowned by a sign of  incandescent bulbs, the preparation area becomes the center of the scene, and the generous height of the hall heightens its verticality and presence.

Materiality moves between texture and calm. In the hall, white tile dresses the columns and entrance with a clean light, while a black steel rail runs along the perimeter like a fine line of shadow that holds the indirect lighting and gives way to microcement,
which rises serenely to the ceiling. That serenity breaks at the threshold: a five-star floor motif announces the change of tone and opens the most intense zone, where the wine color takes over the walls entirely and wraps the scene in a deep atmosphere.
Above the hall, a black grid ceiling is suspended, split into three sections that follow the rhythm of the place, while behind it the structural ceiling stays a calm gray that lends depth to the air. Light is built in layers: a pattern of warm spotlights sets the pulse of
the space, trusses on either side aim their beams at walls and tables, and arm-mounted fixtures light mirrors and light boxes.

Together, they act as stage devices that make the place vibrate like a theater marquee.
In the end, architecture and visual communication meet to build an atmosphere that envelops. Every gesture seeks to keep the place from passing fashion and to
