Le Quartier, Bar e Boucherie

Bar and restaurant are located in the center of the gastronomic complex “Le Quartier”, operated by the Troisgros Brasil group. The Bar, surrounded by different attached restaurants, also works as a connecting room of the complex. At the large counter, it is possible to observe the preparation of food and drinks and part of the operation of the other “Quartier” activities.

During the demolition of the building, three points were decisive for the project: Preserving traces of the original construction, ensuring that the center of the hall remained with double height and enabling natural lighting for the heart of the building.

Day and night reveal different atmospheres. Bright, spacious and stimulating during the early hours of the day, the Bar transforms as night approaches. The large atrium, slowly illuminated, gives way to the comfort of the dim, yellowish light. On the back wall, the rows of bottles shine with reflections from the built-in lighting on the shelves. The lounge with a lower ceiling is discreet and allows the client to be close to the instrumental Jazz presentation.

In resonance with the double-height ceiling, the bottle shelf advances towards the skylight, expanding the vertical perspective of the environment. Considering prolonged use throughout the day, the materials were designed to promote harmony in any lighting setup – Day or night. The restaurant hall, located at one end of “Le Quartier”, is an important part of the flow of activities in the complex. The strategic position of the kitchen, facing the street, allows direct access for inputs and employees to the main kitchen of the complex, on the second floor. Table hall and finishing kitchen are located on the ground floor, where the main access to the restaurant hall takes place, through the Bar Du Quartier.

Plaster and wood panels gave way to exposed beams, pillars and installations. The original bricks of the building were also preserved. The elements of the post demolition investigation allowed to create a place in resonance with the classic French butchers. In the same aesthetic universe, tiles, a blackboard, kitchen accessories complete the humanization of the room. The cuisine specializes in special grilled cuts. Leather and wood furniture reinforce the industrial and welcoming aspect, in addition to the special floor for high-traffic environments, in two colors, which completes the plan of the tables and chairs.
