An innovative renovation that bridges regional agriculture, construction craftsmanship, and minimalist design.

Located in Motosu District, Gifu Prefecture, "linda lindo" is a renovation project for a pastry shop operated by a local strawberry farmer. The project demanded a complete overhaul of the interior space to align with the brand’s newly redesigned pastry concepts and packaging.

The most unique aspect of this project lies in the client's dual background: besides running the strawberry farm, their primary business is in foundational concrete construction. Facing tight schedule constraints and a limited budget, the design leverages this expertise by utilizing raw concrete as the primary interior element. This strategic decision dramatically reduced both construction time and overall costs, turning structural necessity into a striking aesthetic identity.

The interior features a bold, monolithic concrete counter that acts as the centerpiece of the shop, echoing the client’s craftsmanship. To contrast with the solid, raw texture of the concrete walls and structures, the plywood furniture is subtly interspersed with colorful geometric graphics inspired by the newly designed pastry packaging.

By merging the ruggedness of construction materials with the playful precision of graphic design, "linda lindo" proposes a new architectural typology for local businesses—one where the client’s own identity and heritage are directly embedded into the physical space.
