A dynamic Roman Studio with consolidated experience and originality of proposals in the furnishing and renovation of food premises, RPM Proget features a constant commitment to research and an ongoing scouting of experiences in the cities of the world to build a wealth of knowledges that become a source of inspiration for designing food spaces from which banality is banned.
MOLINO Backery bar in Rome is a good example of this approach.
More than a restaurant, MOLINO Bakery bar is a mixer of activities: Coffee house, pizzeria, restaurant, pastry shop. It’s a very modern place and - most important - a newly conceived one if compared to Italy’s traditional food space scenario.
In this project, RPM Proget Studio has worked with traditional materials such as brass, corten, stone, brick or tile coverings combined with a contemporary taste design. The peculiarity of MOLINO's design language is the use of 'classic' materials in such a way, capable to give this multifunctional place a touch of modern mood and style.
MOLINO’s whole food production comes from within: there are laboratories from which products come out directly, from pizza to more sophisticated preparations whereas the grill house cooks tasty food at lunch and dinner. Everything is made 'in house' and with the exception of a few standard basic materials, nothing is purchased outside.
This activity also turns to be a strong visual suggestion: the laboratories, in fact, are behind a glass directly overlooking via Merulana, providing an eye-catching view to people passing through.
From the point of view of ‘living inside’, the restaurant finds inspiration from a truly American concept: customers can sit there for hours socializing, chatting, reading or working on the computer. That’s why MOLINO is not a traditional restaurant, but rather a space where customers feel free to take care of their activities, being allowed to stay even for a long time.
A hotel located on the upper floor is connected with the venue, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the great gastronomic offer of MOLINO.
