Nagi House

Ruangan ASA as Architects

Nagi House is a growing house project. It’s start from the owner’s dream to make comfortable space for newborn baby by expanding existing house. However, due to limited budget and time, this project is divided into several stages.⁣⁣ The first stage is start by making a new mass using the existing backyard. Space left between the two masses then becomes in between space for family gathering in the future.

The exterior color of Nagi House is dominated by white and wood as the accent. We want to emphasize tropical mood that stands out from simplicity. ⁣The facade doesn’t use too many ornaments to keep the wood from being distracted. The other external appearance that stands out is only the trees to increase the tropical and fresh feeling.⁣ The facade looks simple, but still elegant. Different accent is made by GRC woodplank to bring warm feeling while entering the house.⁣ Although this house faces west and is exposed to direct sunlight, its tricked by planting tress in front of it so that the house will be shaded well.⁣

Nagi House layout is very attentive to openings to maximize cross ventilation and light by giving transparent roof on dry garden and creating an innercourt. This is done also to save electricity usage during the day.⁣ High ceiling is made high enough to give the impression of space and make the house feel cooler. The dark gray color on the floor is chosen to make the ceiling feel close, combine with wooden colors on the sills to add a warm impression to this house.⁣ Innercourt gives significant impact by circulating air. Combines with wide windows, it brings cold air in and hot air out of the room. With the rotation of fresh air, the house will become healthier to live in. ⁣The position that is located in front of bedroom intended to give a fresh feel everytime we wake up in the morning.⁣ The living room is located at the front, directly adjacent to the mid garden as a welcome before entering other rooms. This space is designed elongated so that the light can cover the entire room properly.⁣⁣⁣ In the living room there is also a work space that opens directly to the small patio. Nagi House is a project where all the spaces are directly connected to air and natural light.⁣⁣⁣
