The new Neanderthal center emerges with strength to contribute to the scientific development of the Principality of Asturias and also in order to redraw the map of human evolution. An ambitious project that also has an extraordinary location, well connected but at the same time, fully inserted in the natural surroundings.

When fitting the building within the plot, the setbacks are particularly binding, especially given the boundary with two major pathways, the route N-634 and the Train. The urbanization of the whole ensemble should help alleviate these difficult relationships while enhancing the Neanderthal Center. In addition, the project should be closely linked with the different outdoors activities that help undo the unequivocal and closed character of the current museums, proposing alternative uses for the whole family.

With very few but very powerful decisions, the Museum is organized according to the proposed exhibition program given in the competition. From this seed, the rest of the plot is developed in an organic way, as if it was a part of the museum. A specific number of issues clearly address each of the highlights of the proposal
