This university building for 4,600 students and approximately 1,000 university staff is part of the ongoing transformation of the VU University campus in Amsterdam. Its facilities are centred around an interior public square. Housing a number of public facilities, such as a theatre and a cinema, the building has a public atmosphere, which is further accentuated by the distinctive double-height entrance at the new Campus Square and Boelelaan. The building aims to provide a pleasant and clearly arranged educational environment, as well as urban living space.
