Paradox

Paradox

Isabel Gómez Studio as Interior Architects

The clients wish was to reinvent the annexes on the ground floor, taking advantage of the large opening onto the garden.

With the help of geometric compositions, we want to make the building speak for itself. The choice and design of the furniture follows this thought.

To "invite the garden inside", we created a large glass roof at the back of the house. Thanks to it, the living room is completely bathed in light. These black frames offer views to the outside.

The dining room is composed of a magnificent marble table, which rests on a custom-made carpet, designed by ISABEL GÓMEZ STUDIO. The patterns of the carpet challenge the circularity of the project. Around this table, the diversity of materials that make up the chairs, the wall lamp and the suspension light make this space warm.

For the kitchen layout, all the choices reveal a desire to create a place for sharing by integrating unique and creative elements. The central island, whose shape reflects the spirit of the project, is covered with colourful patterns.

An office area is also created. Allowing the occupants to work in front of a green exterior is an advantage. In order not to create an isolated space, screens remind us of the project's approach and a sliding fluted glass door makes this space more intimate. There is a desire to support verticality, through different visual perceptions.

In this project, we want to create paradoxes to break the codes: whether it is through the shape of this house, this unitary block, which contrasts with the finesse of the curves, or through the association of different materials: the warmth of the wood contrasts with the coldness of the marble. This cohabitation of materials is framed by the geometric compositions of the project and is perfectly integrated into the house.
