Emil Eve Architects have recently completed four new luxury holiday apartments within a Grade 2 Listed Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury, London.
Originally built in the 18th Century, no.’s 45 and 46 Red Lion Street are two of the oldest remaining properties in the historic area of Red Lion Square which suffered significant bomb damage in WWII. Unique interiors have been created which marry sensitively restored original features with a bold palette of new materials such as dark terrazzo, ceramic tiling and solid oak joinery. A crisp zinc-clad rear extension has been added which compliments existing volumes while bringing a contemporary addition to the conservation area.
The three one-bed and one three-bed apartments feature large open plan living, cooking and dining areas and generous bedrooms with bespoke joinery and solid oak flooring throughout. These light-filled spaces are contrasted by bathrooms which combine rich and textured materials to create a feeling of atmospheric luxury.
