ArcelorMittal Construction was approached to help think of a solution to improve the appearance of an office with a production hall. The building was to be given a new look and feel, preferably in as short a time as possible, without disrupting current production.

Situation

The existing hall consisted of a steel structure with a brick plinth, followed by PIR sandwich panels with flashing.  There were various possibilities, but the most efficient and conspicuous solution was to provide the building with an extra outer facade to which the handmade Isis point profiles, from the Specials department of ArcelorMittal Construction, were attached.

Construction

The current PIR sandwich panels have been retained, on which a sub-structure consisting of omega profiles of 1.0mm thickness has been mounted, which served as a basis for the final Isis 33 triangular profiles.

These Isis 33 profiles are installed horizontally which were separated by T-sections of flashing.  A special start Isis profile and end Isis profile were designed to continue the horizontal lines all around the building.

Hairexcel coating

To ensure that the building retains its special, chic appearance for years to come, the choice was made for the best possible coating, which is highly regarded in terms of both colour and durability. The Hairexcel coating was chosen for this. This Hairexcel coating is based on a polyurethane with a coating thickness of 60micron, is RUV 4, UV resistant and has a very high corrosion resistance of RC 5. 

Result

All in all, a very efficient solution with no downtime for the current production during the renovation, little inconvenience for the office staff and the maximum result.
