Designed by SaaB Architects, Residence in Shavei Zion is a contemporary coastal villa that seamlessly bridges geometric minimalism with refined, tranquil living. Located in the coastal village of Shavei Zion, the home is characterized by a striking dual-volume composition, subtle texturing, and an open layout that fosters a continuous relationship between the interior spaces and the outdoor pool area.
The architectural envelope combines off-white rendered surfaces, board-formed exposed concrete on the ground level, and vertical white aluminum louvers. These vertical slats act as a protective screen for the upper level, offering privacy and solar protection while filtering gentle daylight into the private quarters. At ground level, full-height floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors completely erase the boundary between the open-plan living space and the outdoor patio.
The outdoor area centers around a linear swimming pool with an integrated built-in bench and an adjacent shallow basin, finished with turquoise mosaic tiles and framed by large-format light paving tiles.
Inside, the open-plan layout unites the kitchen, living, and dining areas. A substantial island clad in horizontally veined silver-grey stone serves as the centerpiece of the kitchen, complemented by minimalist light wood cabinetry and statement sculptural pendant lights above the lounge. Warm timber wall paneling and neutral-toned furniture bring warmth and organic texture to the crisp, clean lines of the architecture.
