Alalunga Pescatori Savona

The Alalunga restaurant is made up of two vaulted rooms that once housed the Savona fish market, overlooking the quay of the city's port. Today the Alalunga fishermen's boat is moored right in front of the entrance, to always bring fresh fish to the kitchen.

The studio was inspired by the world of fishing to design the interiors: the hand-made glossy ceramics with strong shading in the nuances of blue recall the scales of fish on the surface of the water on a sunny day. The great height of the barrel vaults of the rooms is dampened by clusters of rattan lampshades, with a shape that recalls fishing nets for shellfish.

The kitchen is open, at the specific request of the client to show customers how much passion and care are behind each dish that is served, behind an industrial-style verrière illuminated by three lamps from the old fish market, salvaged and restored.

Other elements that contribute to the overlapping of materials and colors are the back walls of the rooms painted in brick red, in contrast with the blue of the ceramics and seats, the wooden tables recovered from old abandoned boats, hints of copper and black anthracite.
