Located in the Southwest of Montreal, along the Lachine Canal, the Saint-Henri project is set within a multi-unit residential building constructed in the early 2000s. Bathed in natural light thanks to generous windows, the apartment revealed signifi cant potential through a comprehensive renovation of its various areas.

Devoid of original character and without moldings, the condo provided a blank canvas, allowing the entire space to be reimagined while respecting existing structural and technical constraints. The intervention aimed to enhance the fl ow, coherence, and functionality of the apartment, while highlighting its strong connection to the outdoors.

The project includes new fl ooring, a fully renovated kitchen and two bathrooms, the addition of a walk-in closet, the creation of a custom library, and the complete selection of interior furnishings.

At the heart of the design is a spacious open-plan area that accommodates the living room, dining room, and kitchen. One of the primary goals of the occupants was to create a space for contemplation with a direct connection to the exterior. A lounge area positioned near the large windows off ers multiple seating options oriented toward the Lachine Canal, allowing residents to observe the activity outside throughout the seasons. Additionally, the addition of curtains along all exterior walls introduces a soft, ethereal texture, balancing the industrial character of the windows.

The material and color palette was carefully curated to create an atmosphere that is both warm and timeless, allowing light and the surrounding landscape to play a central role in the experience of the space. The Saint-Henri project thus off ers a bright, serene interior, deeply rooted in its urban and natural context.
