Nestled in the coastal setting of Balneário Piçarras, Brazil, the Salas Sirena commercial complex brings together clean, contemporary lines and an inviting tactile materiality. Conceived and executed by WGB Arquitetura e Engenharia, the building's volumetric composition features a bold dark perimeter frame that articulates a symmetrical facade, punctuated by neutral-toned planes and textured natural stone panels.
The focal element of the facade is its central entrance portal, highlighted by vertical timber battens that provide warmth and texture. Breaking through the orthogonal rigidity of the volumes, a linear planter creates a suspended vertical garden with cascading greenery directly above the main threshold. This biophilic feature softens the transition from the exterior plaza to the interior spaces, while two parallel strips of lawn guide pedestrian flow across the interlocking paver forecourt straight toward the central entrance axis.
Integrated Multidisciplinary Engineering: Ground to Finish
Beneath its contemporary envelope, Salas Sirena relies on a fully integrated turnkey engineering approach developed in-house by WGB, eliminating coordination clashes and optimizing execution costs:
Foundation & Geotechnical Engineering: Calculated specifically to address the load requirements of a commercial program and the geotechnical characteristics of coastal soil in Piçarras, the reinforced concrete structure delivers structural integrity while preserving open, modular floor plans.
Hydraulic & Sanitary Systems: Engineered for long-term reliability in a coastal climate, minimizing future maintenance and eliminating typical failure points such as water ingress and moisture damage.
Electrical & Fire Protection Infrastructure (PPCI): Sized to support modern corporate electrical demands while complying rigorously with local fire department safety codes, ensuring operational compliance and tenant security.
By unifying architectural design and multi-disciplinary engineering under a single team, WGB Arquitetura e Engenharia bridges the gap between concept and execution, ensuring the built structure remains faithful to the initial vision.
