Architectural Identity: Contemporary Volumetry and Coastal Elegance
Conceived as a contemporary landmark in Balneário Piçarras, Saona Residence reflects a dynamic dialogue between solid geometric masses and visual lightness. The architectural concept prioritizes an asymmetrical articulation of volumes wrapped in deep graphite textures, balanced by natural wood-look elements that bring warmth to the clean-lined geometry.

Deep, cantilevered balconies framed by seamless glass railings visually extend the interior living spaces outward, capturing the coastal breeze and establishing a direct connection with the surrounding urban landscape. At street level, the building engages thoughtfully with the public realm through a linear boundary wall and integrated entrance gate, where recessed warm sconce lighting washes textured vertical surfaces and highlights native landscaping. As dusk falls, a curated architectural lighting scheme traces the building’s orthogonal cantilevers, enhancing the development's street presence and underscoring its private residential character.

Multi-Disciplinary Engineering: Technical Precision Meets Design
Realizing the structural gymnastics of Saona Residence required seamless synergy between design intent and structural pragmatism. Developed in-house by WGB Arquitetura e Engenharia, the project embodies an integrated delivery model where architecture and complementary engineering disciplines are coordinated simultaneously to eliminate on-site bottlenecks and geometric discrepancies.

Structural Integrity and High-Performance Foundations: The sub-structure design was guided by site-specific geotechnical investigations tailored to coastal soil strata. The reinforced concrete superstructure was meticulously engineered to optimize material efficiency, ensuring long-term durability and mitigating structural pathologies while accommodating the building’s expansive overhangs and corner openings.
Building Services: Acoustic Comfort and Future-Proof Infrastructure: MEP systems were mapped through BIM coordination to maintain structural aesthetics without compromising maintenance accessibility. Fluid-dynamic sanitary runs were decoupled to ensure acoustic quietness between adjacent residential units, while the electrical distribution integrates full backbone readiness for home automation and smart energy management.

Fire Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Comprehensive life safety and fire-prevention plans were embedded from the conceptual phase, aligning strictly with regional safety codes to deliver an efficient, fully approved, and safe residential environment.
Project Intelligence as a Catalyst for Execution
The integration of architecture, MEP, and structural engineering under a single multidisciplinary roof defines the WGB methodology. By neutralizing technical clashes before construction commences, this unified workflow mitigates execution errors, controls material consumption, and ensures that the built reality remains faithful to the approved architectural vision. Saona Residence stands as a demonstration of how integrated design intelligence elevates coastal residential developments in Santa Catarina.
