The client asked us the organization of its new offices in Madrid in a building of a modern campus where they have moved. The client expected an efficient and glamorous interior design and we offered him a forest as the best place for work.
The client expected traditional closed offices, build up with conventional elements: walls, partitions, suspended ceilings and a modular lighting system. We offered them to work under the branches of a forest.
We designed a new nature: a grid of wooden trees which geometry transformed the interior space of a previous concrete pillar structure into a new nature. To do this, we worked side by side with the staff of the company and with a great team of carpenters and a magnificent lighting company.
Today, the client considers this office as its best headquarters and all employees want to work in this new forest away from those closed offices.
All together, we were able to promote a beautiful metamorphosis of a traditional concrete structure into a wooden architectural forest that offers to its inhabitants an opened and optimistic space of work. A contemporary office is no longer a “machine for working”, it is an architectural nature for enjoying work.
