The Story of Cells

ED Design Ltd as Interior Architects

As a high-tech company in the field of life science, the design concept takes “cells” as an inspiration, using curvy lines and irregular shapes, it achieves in creating a rich and interesting office environment.

The design sets off with a circular front desk at the entrance, in contrast with the irregular hexagonal feature wall, as a perfect beginning for “The Story of Cells”. A sense of rhythm and an atmosphere of science and technology is strengthened through these geometrical elements. The office space has a high transparency as rooms are divided with glass walls throughout the area. Ceiling and lighting are specially designed to resemble floating cells.

The terrace is designed with the inspiration of a double helix structure of DNA, combining different elements, such as greenery, wood and cement. A fountain is created as highlight. Water travels from fountain to the lawn, creating a quiet soothing feeling and giving liveliness to the entire terrace.

Indoor areas are mainly divided by glass walls, creating an open and transparent office while maintaining flexibility for functional division. The meeting room is an exceptional case, with white walls and irregular round shaped windows. The openness of the office speaks the spirit of the company: being open and equal, and to compose an active and friendly office atmosphere for employees to relax and strike for work efficiency.
