Senda was conceived as a space dedicated to holistic care, where architecture supports the experience of its users through a warm, serene, and sensory environment. The project's intention was to move away from the traditional image associated with healthcare facilities and instead create an atmosphere closer to that of a spa or wellness retreat, where even the waiting time becomes part of the overall experience.
The program is organized around a central waiting and gathering area that functions as the heart of the project, connecting the ten consulting rooms arranged around it. This layout allows the treatment areas to maintain their privacy while the center is structured around a shared, open, and naturally lit space. The program is complemented by support and service areas that accommodate the daily operation of the facility.
The central space is conceived as a pause within the rhythm of everyday life. A composition of abundant greenery, organically shaped furniture, and small green side tables creates a relaxed, domestic atmosphere, transforming the waiting period from a transitional moment into an integral part of the experience. The vegetation introduces a natural dimension that softens the architecture while creating different levels of intimacy within the shared space.
Suspended above this central area is one of the project's defining features: a custom-designed lighting installation composed of layered translucent fabrics that unfold organically across the ceiling. Its ethereal and ever-changing appearance evokes a cloud, a suspended lightweight form, or a natural installation, functioning simultaneously as a sculptural centerpiece and a source of illumination. Light filters through the overlapping layers of fabric, producing a warm, diffused glow while creating shadows, transparencies, and varying depths that continuously transform the perception of the space.
The material palette reinforces this search for calm and naturalness. Warm, tactile materials—primarily wood and stone—are combined with textiles in neutral tones. Wood introduces warmth and a more domestic scale, while the stone reception desk provides a sense of permanence and solidity. Its handcrafted finish, featuring a carved and richly textured surface, reinforces the idea that materials should be appreciated not only visually but also through their tactile qualities.
The color palette is based on warm neutrals—beige, sand, and natural wood tones—accented by green, the signature color of the brand identity. Green is incorporated selectively through the planters, side tables, and carefully chosen design elements, establishing a direct connection between the visual identity of the wellness center and the architectural space. Associated with the surrounding vegetation, this color further reinforces the concepts of nature, balance, and well-being.
Lighting was conceived as a fundamental tool for shaping the atmosphere. Rather than relying on uniform, purely functional illumination, the design seeks to create a warm, soft, and enveloping light, particularly within the shared areas. The central lighting installation embodies this intention, becoming the defining element of the interior and accompanying visitors from the moment they enter.
The consulting rooms, arranged around the central space, adopt a calmer and more restrained expression, allowing the overall architectural language to extend into the treatment areas without compromising functionality. The repetition of the modules establishes a clear organizational order, while the use of warm materials and carefully placed transparent elements maintains a visual connection with the communal space.
Overall, the Wellness Center aims to create an experience that deliberately departs from the institutional character of a conventional medical clinic. Architecture becomes a tool for fostering a sense of calm: vegetation brings life, wood introduces warmth, stone conveys permanence, and light transforms the space. Every element has been carefully considered so that the center is not merely a place for treatment, but also a place capable of promoting well-being from the very first moment.
