Volumetric Composition and Architectural Precision in a Contemporary Residence

The project was conceived through a series of simple formal strategies, where a few architectural gestures organize the spaces and establish a cohesive whole. The composition is guided by a carefully curated material palette, balancing natural wood, stone, and woven textiles. Repeated throughout the apartment, these materials create a continuous architectural language that naturally connects the spaces and reinforces the identity of the intervention.

In the social areas, the relationship with the surrounding landscape informed the project's key design decisions. Large openings facing the vegetation make natural light a defining architectural element, leading to the use of a discreet white ceiling that enhances brightness while preserving the visual continuity between interior and exterior. In contrast, the entrance hall, kitchen, and service areas are organized by a large wood-clad architectural volume that integrates ceilings, walls, and cabinetry into a single cohesive gesture. This element accommodates the support functions, conceals equipment, and structures circulation, establishing a clear transition between functional spaces and living areas.

At the heart of this composition, a monolithic natural stone island occupies a central position in the kitchen, bringing together food preparation and social interaction. Its solid presence contrasts with the lightness of the white surfaces and expansive glazing, creating a balanced dialogue between mass and transparency.

The same pursuit of continuity informs the custom millwork. Doors, cabinetry, and wall panels share a unified language, concealing access points and equipment to preserve the clean reading of the architectural volumes. In the private areas, wood remains the predominant material, complemented by light-toned surfaces, natural textiles, and indirect lighting to create warm, serene, and welcoming environments.

Every space was conceived as part of a single architectural narrative, where light, materials, and proportion work together to create a quiet and refined architecture. The continuity of the project is reinforced through the thoughtful repetition of materials and the shared compositional logic between spaces, allowing the apartment to be experienced as a cohesive and harmonious whole.
