Few houses from the early 20th century have survived the urban development of the city. The hotel and the group of four neighboring houses are protected as historical heritage of Buenos Aires.

These houses were built around a central courtyard and are known as "casas chorizo" because they were proportionally narrow and long. When planning the extension, we proposed to the government authority that regulates interventions in historic buildings to maintain the courtyard throughout the height of the new six-story addition, and to set it back from the street sufficiently so that this volume appears to be floating above the protected building.

The new construction does not compete with or attempt to blend in with the existing structure; it represents 21st-century technological expression in harmony with the previous century's design, adhering to the same compositional and constructive principles as 100 years ago.

An olive tree, symbolizing peace, prosperity, fertility, perpetuity, and abundance, will be planted in the center of the courtyard, which will feature greenish granite mosaic paving with stone, black, and some lighter-colored tiles. The space will have a nostalgic and fresh ambiance, equipped with comfortable minimalist chairs and sofas to enhance and reinforce this idea.

The exterior of the historic house, with its friezes and garlands, and the interior with high ceilings and doors, decorative elements, moldings, noble materials, and artisanal elements, will be complemented by contemporary, very comfortable, and simple furniture in the common areas for access, relaxation, and dining, highlighting the meticulous restoration by expert artisans to value the heritage building.

The extension will be realized with a combined structure of naval steel W profiles with lost formwork, using galvanized steel painted white for reinforced concrete slabs with mechanically leveled flooring, and microtextured matte white aluminum enclosures, with fixed and movable parts and glass panels forming a hermetic double glazing system. The interior and exterior partitions of autoclaved aerated concrete bricks, plastered with waterproof mix for exteriors or plaster for interiors, will be painted matte chalk white.

The equipment in this section, as in the heritage part, highlights the envelope, but with reference to the historic building it integrates with, using limestone mosaic coverings, cross faucets, style furniture with natural luster, and wool rugs.

Few buildings around the hotel will surpass the height of the green terrace, except for the large residential towers that are three times taller. From this viewpoint, it will be possible to admire the city's eclectic skyline, whether taking a swim in the pool or enjoying a drink in comfortable chairs on the grass.

A blend of historic and contemporary elements, with references to the early buildings of Palermo and advanced construction resources, aiming to preserve the character and personality of the hotel.
