If we consider living in a house in Tehran with all its unique features at one end of the residential spectrum, a villa in the Northern part of Iran that is a destination for vacations and enjoying nature is on the other end of the spectrum; In the middle, there are villas and houses with easy access around Tehran. Villas that are destinations because of their internal facilities. These villas are used mainly on the weekends. They are places to engage in activities such as relaxing, swimming, barbecuing, hosting parties without disturbing others, and creating no disturbance for others. 

The question was how to expand the internal facilities in this typology.

The common type in this area usually consists of infill villas with an east-west orientation, terraced on steep slopes with terraces facing the mountain range. First, by reducing the building mass, placing it on one side of the site, and adding a fifth wall to the project, a void was created on the side.

This void, while connecting the Western and Eastern courtyards, made it possible to slide the terraces from the Eastern facade into the void. Intense Western light makes spending time in the western part of the villa almost impossible. Therefore, by adding openings in the side facade and providing internal lighting, we could completely close the western facade.

The "reduced building mass", in terms of materials, is covered with white cement, common in the area, and contrasts significantly with the fifth wall which is made of brick. Furthermore, by connecting the internal spaces with the adjacent void and along the openings, parts of the brick wall have been turned into mirrors that reflect different views of the surrounding landscapes and various parts of the internal spaces of the Villa.
