A 12,000 sq.ft / 1115 sq.m vernacular oasis set in the interior farmlands of Phaltan Maharashtra. The design philosophy celebrates the past and the present of vernacular architecture, where some details give a nod to the old charm of the village. The house, being a weekend home, comprises of 6 bedrooms, connecting with the two courts and opening in the scapes of the site.
The key challenge in this project was the responsibility of designing for the context.
The material used in this project are true to the context, with use of locallu available bricks and the detail of brick work gives a homage to the character of the town.
