The design and material details
In this apartment, the architects have blurred the boundaries between spaces and created an expansive, open-plan look. It follows modernity with ethnic elements in each room with the use of a muted tone of beige, brown furniture and handpicked accessories. The naturally-lit living room is a large, comfortable place, furnished with sectionals. Elsewhere, a neutral-coloured plaster wall is embellished with wooden arches — a distinct design element seen in traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati homes. The focal point of home is the yoga area and the free-standing basin space which is decorated with ethnic arches. The living and dining areas feature a vibrant fabric ceiling, and veneer on storage cabinets. The bedrooms are a fine example of how to merge modernity with ethnic intricacy. Here, again, the ceiling panels in vibrant fabric stand out in contrast to the more contemporary- looking walls.
