Progetto Design & Build as Architects

Part of one of the world's most significant video game development groups, Ubisoft Milan entrusted Progetto Design & Build, a CMR Project Group company, with the construction of its new offices.

The client asked to develop an unexpected place, capable of constantly stimulating the inspiration of its employees who are immersed daily in the digital dimension and in constant creative solicitation.

Progetto Design & Build develops immersive spaces, with a strong visual impact, consistent with the company's daily digital creativity activity. However, it neglects the playful side of this profession.

Ubisoft Italia asked to develop an unexpected place, capable of constantly stimulating the inspiration of its employees who are immersed daily in the digital dimension and in constant creative solicitation.

The office space layout follows the oblique lines that characterize the building's architecture: in fact, the floor plan is unusual and characterized by broken lines, sharp angles and diagonal walls.

The segmented geometric patterns and broken lines are repeated along the corridors to create an optical effect that dematerializes the architectural structure. This effect dialogues with light entering through slanted windows.

The colorful and imposing reception desk emerges from the dark-hued walls and ceiling, almost like a spaceship. The dark surfaces of the reception desk open up to the large glass window into the tree-filled garden.

Operational spaces are spacious and invite collaboration. The meeting rooms are themed and each is inspired by a game's environment and characters from Ubisoft's most famous titles. They have a choice of lighting, finishes and furnishings capable of creating a distinct atmosphere.

The variety of environments and details continues in the break area, an informal space also punctuated by very different and colorful furniture elements, such as the decor of the floors, the checkered counter, and industrial design pieces side by side with vintage furniture; an extremely flexible design creates many different places within a single space.

The design for the newly created Ubisoft Italy offices stimulates the inspiration of employees who are immersed daily in the digital dimension and in constant creative solicitation.

Particular attention was paid to the choice of materials by combining natural elements such as wood and ceramics with unique furniture complements specially chosen to characterize each room.
