Strategically located in Renaissance Park at the heart of Spartanburg, SC’s central business district, the George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business Administration and Economics has been designed to enhance the physical integrity of the surrounding commercial and institutional context. Modern facilities, advance technologies and flexible spaces were high priorities for the executive and continuing education programs housed in the College, along with an open office environment that encourages engagement with the local business community. Affectionately known as “The George,” the three-story, 66,000 SF building has been designed to integrate well with the adjoining Civic Center, which shares a linear courtyard.
The George is the result of a collaborative process with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, serving as the Architect of Record, working in close association with David M. Schwarz Architects, serving as Design Architect.
