FIR ITALIA COLLECTIONS ENRICH VILLA MARA
Simple and delicate shapes for a bucolic setting
This makeover concerns a villa set deep in the lush Biella hills, featuring ample spaces and large glazed surfaces.
The architects decided to keep and bring to their best advantage some of the existing remarkable features, as bold as they are highly valuable: the Barge quartzite floor in the living area, the black marble fireplace in the lounge and the Afrormosia parquet in the sleeping area.
The villa has two bathrooms, a master bathroom and a guest one, embellished by two collections of Fir Italiataps and mixers - Smile 64 and Cleo 84 - both in Chrome finishing.
The Smile 64 collection, used for both the single lever mixer of the washbasin and the shower accessories, stands out for its rounded and gentle volumes, which result in a modern and harmonious look.
As a matter of fact, its design is inspired by a sunny, smiling face. The lever has a particularly ergonomic shape that assures a comfortable and firm grip, for excellent functionality. The free-standing bathtub and the shower with seat and double shower head are the main features of the master bathroom, where the porcelain stoneware tiles have been used in shades of grey and with 3D decorations: the cool hues of the room and the smooth volumes of this collection create a contrast that lends a bold personality to the room.
The guest bathroom, on the other hand, uses the Cleo 84 collection: the essential style embodied by its roundness, which has historically been its distinctive feature, has been givena modern treatment in this collection. Simple cylindrical shapesgive life toa mixer with a fresh and minimalist concept, capable of brilliantly complementing contemporary settings, such as this bathroom with a cosy mood.
The master bedroom features a shelf that follows the broken line of the walls, which are covered with particularly simple and elegant wallpaper. The pendant lights on the mismatched night tables also feature at the door of the room, and are reminiscent of precious pearls, creating endless plays of light.
On the ground floor, the grand living room, originally featuring yellow Venetian stuccoes and brightly coloured floral fabrics, is now a modern, yet cosy room filled with light. The wide glazed surfaces are emphasized by using light, white curtains; one of the windows is framed by a bookcase with plasterboard niches made on site. The crystal dining table is lit by an airy-shaped pendant, so as not to block the outside view. The fireplace continues being the focus of the sitting room, the conversation area where the armchairs are located.
The TV set placed above it turns into a work of art when turned off. The walls covered by deep blue wallpaper create a marked contrast with the predominant colour in the room, white. The wrought iron balustrade protecting the staircase has been replaced by full height pillars in brushed ash with an open pore finish.
