Well-known for its extensive use throughout the architectural market, aluminum composite is becoming an increasing popular building material in both new and retrofit healthcare construction. Aluminum composite material is a modern, durable and workable alternative to heavy metal products.

A perfect fit for heavy-use buildings such as health centers, composite panels are a strong, long-lasting material. In addition, their diverse range of shapes and colors make composite panels aesthetically desirable as well, allowing healthcare facilities to provide their patients and visitors with a more comfortable environment.

As explained by Kori Nichols of Roof Services Corporation, the responsible fabricators for this project, “Hospitals and healthcare facilities utilize composite panels for state-of-the-art solutions to augment their sterile facades with striking architectural significance and appearance.”

Founded in the 1970s, the Virginia Eye Institute is one of Virginia’s most respected ophthalmology practices. With highly rated healthcare facilities across Virginia, patient comfort is their primary design objective. Completed in early 2012, the 16,000-square foot facility accommodates eye care patients and consumers with their comprehensive ophthalmology health center and full-service optical store.

With the capacity to perform surgeries, the physicians at the Virginia Eye Institute in Towne Center are specialists in ophthalmic care. Creating a cohesive brand image, their new facility serves as a complementary structure to their statewide centers.

When looking for a modern building material, ALPOLIC Silver Metallic was specified for the new Virginia Eye Institute medical office building in Richmond, Virginia. Covering the canopies, soffits, accents, entranceway, walls and fascia, the ALPOLIC aluminum composite material adds a unique flare to the building’s brick façade.
