Inaugurated during the celebrations for the nomination of Matera as Capital of Culture 2019, La Suite is a refined 5-star hotel overlooking the enchanting historic centre of the 15th century city. A design undoubtedly sought after for a structure originally born as a residential building and then recoded by a careful design by Studio Marco Piva.
The natural comfort of the bioclimatic pergola
The spaces of domestic design have made it possible to rethink the receptive environments in an innovative way, creating a hotel composed exclusively of suites, the most spacious of which are located on the fifth floor and enjoy a large open-air terrace overlooking the historic walls.
Protecting and embellishing this exclusive view is the Bioclimatic Vision pergola by Pratic which, thanks to a cover with aluminium blades that can be adjusted up to 140 degrees, allows to modulate the use of outdoor spaces according to preferences and weather conditions. Each of the four Panorama Suites has a Vision module which, leaning against the wall, extends from the room outwards, leaving part of the terrace surface uncovered. Essential and technologically advanced, the structure built by Pratic offers hotel guests the opportunity to benefit from the beauty of the landscape in maximum climatic comfort. Natural lighting and ventilation are in fact adjustable through the movement of the blades, which can be easily managed by remote control.
The light and discreet design of the pergola has also brought an additional benefit, as its reduced volume and the possibility to be easily removed have made it possible to respond in a timely manner to the many landscape constraints of the area. The choice of colour is not random either: the bright ivory shade, selected for Vision, enhances the light, natural colours of the stone used for the façade. An aesthetic detail of great value, which is also a tribute to the wonder of the Sassi di Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
