In the heart of Como an office has been transformed into a private apartment.
The existing state of the house presented a narrow and long corridor, a barrier that imposed obligatory paths and divided the space in two. The demolition of the internal partitions made it possible to re-distribute the space, identifying the corridor no longer as an obstacle but as a peculiar part of the house. In has been emphasized thanks to the inclusion of stone blu volumes that house the services: two bathrooms and a laundry room.
A central element creates circularity in the space and contains a “studio” on one side and a walk-in closet on the other.
The long corridor thus becomes the predominant subject of the apartment and functionally separates the sleeping area from the living area.
