Wuxi Grand Theater occupies an area of about 67,600 square meters. With 7 layers on the ground,1 layer underground, Total construction area about 78,000 square meters, more than 50 meters high.Theater buildings formed by the main play hall, comprehensive show hall and related supporting facilities. As Wuxi make culture industry's flagship initiatives, Wuxi Grand Theater was built in 2009, invited the famous Finland designer Pekka Salminen, took three years to complete. Grand theater has unique in shape,overlook this shape,it is just like eight "wings" as butterflies fall on urban waterside.From the exterior to the interior decoration,both use the most advanced materials at home and abroad, the theater use plenty of glass curtain wall, from the ground, chairs, walls are all use bamboo materials instead of wood.
Story of Materials:
The main play hall design and used, from the walls,ground and chairs are all embodies the concept of low carbon environmental protection, after the special treatment of bamboo,it can have moth-proofing and anti-corrosive,also with good sound-absorbing and anti-sound effect.
This is also the world's first bamboo application that is widely used in the play hall. Wuxi Grand Theater use of renewable and environmentally friendly bamboo materials in indoor decoration,with the quantity for more than 200 cubic meters, it is the world's most widely used of bamboo materials in the public buildings. Usually all the theater around the china was select hardwood to decorate, and Wuxi Grand Theater is combined with the new trend in today's world, only the wall for opera house was decoration with more than 20,000 pieces of bamboo panel, involving more than 10,000 varieties. Each panel is design separately, both with micro model, and to meet with the acoustic reflection density, carried out by computer numerical control cutting, combined with external image of a dragonfly to mutual reflect ecological features and regional characteristics.
