At the Freilager in Zurich, located at Rautistrasse 77, a bespoke climate ceiling solution was installed that combines functional, acoustic and aesthetic requirements. Within a short period, a solution was developed that integrated seamlessly into ongoing office operations and is now regarded as a benchmark for sophisticated indoor climate control.

Construction during ongoing operations
The existing building presented the project team with a challenging task: the required cooling capacity and the optimisation of room acoustics could only be achieved using high performance modules and a project-specific acoustic solution. At the same time, the client’s high visual standards had to be met.

In addition, the work had to be carried out while the office remained operational – a challenge in terms of coordination, scheduling and collaboration with all trades on site.

Technology and design in harmony
The ALBATROS high performance module provided a solution that combines all requirements in a single system. The climate ceiling was complemented by a project-specific acoustic solution, precisely tailored to the design requirements.

To ensure seamless integration into the existing ceiling, the modules were precisely colour-matched. This resulted in a harmonious overall appearance that brings together technology and design.

Precise coordination at every stage
A particular challenge lay in coordinating the production and installation schedules for the modules. This was successfully managed through precise internal planning and close collaboration between all parties involved.

The project was completed within nine weeks, from quotation to final installation. During this period, production, logistics and installation had to be aligned so that all processes interlocked seamlessly. The climate ceilings were manufactured at the company’s own plant in Germany, enabling direct control over production. Combined with precise internal planning and reliable cooperation with suppliers, all production deadlines were met.

At the same time, office operations continued without interruption. Installation was adapted accordingly, with clear agreements, rolling scheduling and coordinated procedures between all parties involved. The result was a smooth implementation without disruption for users.
