The modern character of the residences in Chalandri, in the northern suburbs of Athens, makes them stand out from their neighboring buildings of past decades, thus fostering an architecture that seeks to relate to its surroundings by way of contrast. Built on a 516 sq. m. plot in the eastern suburb of Papagou, in close proximity to Mount Hymettus, these residences combine the tranquility of nature with the convenience of urban living. The building consists of a ground-floor apartment, two full-floor apartments, and a three-story penthouse. Its exterior features two vertical surfaces that subtly protrude from the main structure, creating a visual boundary from neighboring buildings. The modern house in Plock has been carefully integrated into the southern slope of the Vistula river. The elevation of the House  is made of a  dark gray stone tails, thanks to which the building looks like a granite rock lying on a mountain slope. Strips of glazing dynamically pass through the body of the building, also illuminating the entresol and the bathroom on the first floor. The cube has been carefully integrated into the cascading, minimalist garden. More
