Café Caprista

Caprista is a daytime venue that reinterprets the distinctive atmosphere of Capri Island through a contemporary interior language. Centered around breakfast, bakery products, and fresh beverages, the project draws inspiration from the sunlit coasts of the Mediterranean, Italy’s seaside towns, and Capri’s vibrant identity, closely associated with its lemon groves. İbrahim Özbunar İbrahim Özbunar Rather than directly reproducing the imagery of Capri, the design transforms the memory of this geography into a spatial experience through color, light, texture, and materiality. Blue tones evoke the freshness of the sea, warm white surfaces reflect the understated elegance of coastal architecture, and rustic texture... More

BAZ

XXXI.studio unveils BAZ, a Lisbon restaurant where the architectural design demonstrates a complete commitment to material integrity and openness. Building on the studio’s philosophy of transparency, the project established a true performance of culinary service, where the boundary between chef and customer was intentionally dissolved. Francisco Nogueira The architectural narrative begins at the entrance, designed as a portal to a different reality. The intriguing facade is precisely cut to introduce a minimalist stainless steel box that marks the threshold. The entrance utilises stainless steel and raw wood, allowing the identity of the materials to speak for themselves. Francisco Nogueira The interior design is anchored... More

Villa de Bleu

“What I dream of is an art like a good armchair—one that offers rest from physical fatigue.” This sentence appears in the painter’s notes of Henri Matisse. Perspectives may differ, but I interpret it in two ways: by necessity and for everyone. In that sense, it resonates deeply with the spatial design we pursue. “Art like an armchair” does not simply refer to the practical function of an ordinary chair anyone can purchase; rather, much like the etymology of the word art, a skill derived from technique, it speaks to using the craft of creating beauty for those who need it. In other words, it is the desire to create an armchair that feels like art. Caption Caption Caption A young entrepreneu... More

Hay Sushi

A stone’s throw from Toronto’s animated Yonge and Sheppard intersection, Hay Sushi is a neighbourhood establishment known for elevated Japanese fare and relaxed dining. Odami had the opportunity to reimagine the restaurant’s Spring Garden location in a nearby space with double its previous capacity. Our design seeks to translate the quiet confidence of the brand’s menu — strongly composed dishes that are detail-oriented but not overly decorative — into an intriguing interior with warmth, comfort, and familiarity, a space that both honours and enhances the restaurant's existing posture in the community.   Kurtis Chen Kurtis Chen Located in the ground-floor podium of a 1990s residential towe...
