Reference projects
The Branch House, designed for a couple of avid art collectors, is situated on a one-acre lot in the hills of Montecito, California. In restoring the site, the original ranch house was demolished to revive the native oak grove and restore the natural topography. The new construction was carefully positioned to coexist with the oak trees, using concrete piles to elevate the structure and protect the root zones. Internally, the materials were chosen for their organic qualities, including oak doors, galvanized steel railings, and concrete details. The striking white walls of the gallery accentuate the contemporary art pieces, while the 'wet' areas of the house, such as the kitchen and bathrooms, are distinguished by vibrant, single-color clay tiles from Heath Ceramics, enhancing the visual richness of these spaces. Skylights in these areas create a feeling of being enclosed in a glazed vessel beneath the sky. Focusing on the lighting, the project incorporates the C2-Series fixtures from Litelab, which have been developed through collaboration with lighting designers and architects.
Lake Point House is an elegant retreat designed for an active family to connect with nature and each other. Located at the edge of Lake Sunapee, the house features a harmonious blend of wood, stone, and steel, celebrating the rugged beauty of New Hampshire. Upon entering, a series of thresholds reveals stunning views of the lake. The deep overhangs stretch skyward while protecting them from the elements. The project emphasizes lighting by utilizing the C2-Series fixtures from Litelab. Designed in partnership with lighting designers and architects, this series is an evolution of the C3-Series, featuring a narrower diameter of 2 inches, down from 3. The customized lighting design harmonizes with the interior with sophistication.
The Thompson Exhibition Building was designed as a keynote building for Mystic Seaport Museum’s 19-acre riverfront campus. Incorporating the C2-Series lighting fixtures into the Thompson Exhibition Building significantly enhances both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the space. The 5,000-square-foot exhibition gallery leverages the fixtures' tool-less optical zoom, allowing curators to spotlight specific exhibits with precision while minimizing glare. Additionally, the onboard dimming capability creates the perfect ambiance for various events, from receptions to exhibitions.
