Desk #2 is a dynamic piece of furniture that appears to capture a moment in time. It is as if the frame were pauses as the piece was being stretched. This feeling is the result of the structural style of Nico Yektai. Each component is pushed, pulled and shifted until it fits into the composition. Along the way Yektai backs himself into difficult situations. The challenge to "resolve" those problems becomes the spark that makes his pieces more than just unique. The become the singular expression of this one person. In other words his furniture becomes sculpture.
The adventure continues with Chair #4, which is a balanced composition in its own right.
