On Salone del Mobile 2026, Unopiù introduces IGEA, a new outdoor collection designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana, which reinterprets in a contemporary key a great classic of outdoor furniture: wrought iron collections.
The project stems from the meeting between tradition and innovation and fits into the theme of travel that runs through the entire Unopiù 2026 narrative: a journey understood as the experience of outdoor living.
Thin lines, classical proportions and an essential language define a collection characterized by an immediate visual lightness.
The name IGEA, from the Greek Hygeia, evokes the concept of well-being as harmony between form, function and the quality of everyday experience, a principle that guides the entire development of the project. The collection is designed to dialogue with both classical and contemporary contexts, expressing a timeless design.
Handcrafted, IGEA is the result of careful technical and production research aimed at preserving the character and resistance of iron, while making it functional, easy to assemble and suitable for contract needs. All elements are made of galvanized iron and finished with a graphite-colored coating, a choice that ensures durability in outdoor environments and enhances the material with a sober and elegant aesthetic.
The collection includes a folding chair, small armchair, armchair, two- and three-seater sofas, pouf, sun lounger, coffee tables and dining tables, configuring itself as a complete system.
IGEA represents a balance between tradition and contemporaneity, where the purity of forms and the lightness of iron transform simplicity into a distinctive sign of outdoor living.
