Pixel is a ‘field’ of color, a blend of shades, born of Italy’s landscapes and nature; coastal, highlands and pastoral. Pixel can be used for covering the exteriors of buildings but can also be used for the walls of large spaces. Pixel highlights the importance of ceramic coverings for reinventing architecture and surfaces. Light, colour, shape and texture are closely related; they change our perception of space and suggest new and unusual urban landscapes. “The original idea behind Pixel - says HOK Product Design’s Grossinger - was to ‘blow-up’ an image that has been converted from print to a digitized image – or pixelated. Pixel can be used in larger scale spaces in both architectural and residential project”.
