Choose sustainability with the IMAGE'IN seaside planter
Fibre cement, a material that is completely resistant to saline environments
Our IMAGE'IN planters are made from fibre cement, a particularly durable material that is ideal for outdoor flower boxes exposed to sea spray. Fibre cement is frost-resistant, rot-proof and non-combustible (classified M0 / A2-s1,d0 according to EN 13-501-1). It is also resistant to saline and even chlorinated environments, making it the ideal material for use by the sea or around swimming pools.
This material is quite heavy, which has the advantage of keeping pots perfectly stable in high winds. Finally, fibre cement has low thermal conductivity, which is also an advantage in regions subject to high temperatures.
The ‘IMAGE'IN’ seaside planter was therefore the natural choice for this terrace design project. The dual objective here was to create a privacy screen behind the glass railings without obstructing the magnificent sea view! Thin planters with a height of 50 cm were chosen for this purpose to minimise the amount of floor space taken up.
Fibre cement is also environmentally friendly
Eternit fibre cement is a mineral material that contributes to eco-construction thanks to its intrinsic qualities. Our supplier Eternit is itself environmentally responsible and ISO14001 certified. The fibre cement manufacturing process is non-polluting. Eterboard® fibre cement panels are made from a mixture of cement, mineral fillers, natural fibres and additives. Their composition makes them completely environmentally friendly throughout the manufacturing, installation and demolition cycle. This means they can easily be recycled into inert rubble. For example, any material scraps that cannot be reused in new products or for the production of samples are recycled into rubble by a local earthworks company.
All our IMAGE'IN planters are made to measure in France, in our workshop in Touraine.
You choose the shape, dimensions, options, colour and finish. Colour fastness over time is also a very important factor in durability. To achieve this, we use two-component polyurethane paints and varnishes. This ‘automotive-type’ system with ‘primer + paint + varnish’ guarantees excellent UV resistance.
On this landscaping project, there was an issue with the continuity of the privacy screen in the corner of the terrace behind the offset parasol. As there was not enough space to position planters, a custom-made aluminium sheet covering was developed. This hooks onto the back of the adjoining planters. In the corner, an adjustable foot supports the load and allows for perfect alignment adjustment.
We are committed to producing high-quality pots.
