Designed by Paris-based industrial designer Florent Coirier, Qbini is the smallest spotlight ever produced by Modular Lighting Instruments. Deriving inspiration from the shapes of children’s sorting boxes, Qbini allows you to customize your own fixture by offering two finish options, six shapes, and four sizes.

A portmanteau of ‘cubic’ and ‘mini,’ Qbini is a modular, recessed LED lighting solution that features patented press-in, press-out technology that makes installation simple — even in concrete ceilings, no screws required.

“When Modular asked me to design a small, square spotlight, I wanted to transcend the obvious.” says Coirier of his design process. “The first thing that came to mind was the sorting box I played with as a child —and t he result is just as playful. The LED is contained in a kind of mechanical box, and pushing against the lamp causes it to retract. This patented system, in combination with the various shapes and colors, allows you to freely experiment with the design of the fixture. Qbini may look simple, but its technology is complex.”
