REVOLUTION® is a fabric made from PLA (polylactic acid), a bio-polymer derived entirely from renewable vegetable materials instead of oil. It meets the same performance standards as conventional sunscreen fabrics, using 50 percent less fossil fuels and producing 60 percent less greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional synthetic polymers.

The current product range includes REVOLUTION® and REVOLUTION® Metal, which features a metalized backing for roller and panel blinds.

REVOLUTION® is the first high-tech sunscreen fabric made from plants globally to receive Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold certification, while REVOLUTION® Metal has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver.

The production of PLA compared to conventional polyester:

- Requires 42.9 percent less energy
- Causes 77.3 percent less carbon dioxide emissions

Process of production
REVOLUTION® is produced by extracting sugars from annually grown plants, which are then converted into this innovative material for glare control fabrics.

Technical accuracy and market insight into customer needs led to this new generation of glare control fabrics, made from renewable raw materials. Unlike standard polyester, REVOLUTION® is crafted from Ingeo™, a new material entirely sourced from renewable vegetable materials.
